A few weeks ago I shared a scrumptious brunch with some of my best friends! I was thrilled to see them and host them for some nourishing time together. My absolute favourite thing about hosting is planning the different components of the meal. For this gathering, I decided to have a fall theme full of seasonal treats!
The menu was:
Cinnamon Apple Dutch Baby
Maple Bacon Hash
Pastries & Treats
Fresh Berries
Mulled Apple Cider
Herbal Tea
Here is the recipe for the Dutch Baby! I had never had one before, but it is basically the sweet version of a Yorkshire pudding... DIVINE!
Ingredients:
4 eggs
2/3 cup flour
2/3 cup of whole milk
1/2 tsp salt
4 tbsp salted butter
2 tsp vanilla extract
Recipe:
1. Heat your oven to 450° F. 2. In a blender, combine the eggs, milk, flour, salt, vanilla, and 2 tablespoons melted butter, blending until smooth. 3. Melt 2 tablespoons butter in your cast iron skillet at a medium heat. Pour the batter into the hot skillet. Place the skillet in the center of the oven and bake until the pancake is fully puffed and browned on top (approx. 15 minutes). Be careful not to open the oven so that your pancake doesn't deflate! 4. Once the dutch baby is cooked, add your choice of fruit, cinnamon, sugar, maple syrup, honey, whipped cream, etc.!
ENJOY your munchin'!
