Thursday, January 16th: Tips on sharing the local love on social media!
This week as I was perusing facebook I came across this post that really got me thinking. I wanted to share what the post said with you all, so here it is:
"So many of you watched 'Bird Box' (movie on Netflix) because you saw someone post about it on social media, or you at LEAST know what is was because of social media, and could make a decision on whether you wanted to watch it or not by your friends feedback.

And that my friends... is where business is going. Netflix didn't have to spend a DIME on marketing. YOU DID IT FOR THEM.

So next time you scroll by your friends working their side hustle, REMEMBER: a simple like, comment, or share GREATLY helps their business and is appreciated. If you can help Netflix, you can help someone you know!"
Now that might be a bit blunt, but it really got me thinking about my own use of social media. I follow all of the WFM2Go vendors on my social media, and I try my best to like their posts when I see them, but engagement is such a wonderful gift to our farmers/producers who are trying to build a business.
So, I ask those of you who use social media to make an effort when you see a local farmer's/producer's post on facebook to like their post and maybe even comment! Small business owners spend a lot of time building a presence on social media because that is the way we reach current/new customers. And our dedicated customers can really help out by engaging on social media! Even just a review of their business is such a gift from a customer who loves their product.
